Arhivele Totalitarismului journal sees peer review as essential for ensuring high scholarly standards both for the journal and the researchers who have authored the papers. 

The authors of articles drafted in French or English are to submit their papers only after proofreading. 

Arhivele Totalitarismului journal reviews the submitted article using the ‘double-blind review’ model, which means that both the identity of reviewers and authors remains unknown. Only the editorial staff is aware of the identity of the reviewers and authors, and during the peer review process, the information is confidential. 

Arhivele Totalitarismului journal provides reviewers with a form to fill in, both in Romanian and English, to assess the articles received for review. 

The peer-review form contains several sections in which reviewers are asked to provide commentaries regarding the originality, novelty and impact for the research area of the submitted article. 

Formal aspects such as complying with a scholarly structure of an article and the editing guidelines of Arhivele Totalitarismului are taken into account. Reviewers are asked to assess on specific items, such as relevance, methodology, bibliography.
